The holiday season can be stressful and hectic, filled with temptations to overindulge.  Overdoing it during the holidays leaves us feeling sluggish, bloated, and tired.

And when we try to avoid holiday weight gain, we often end up bingeing and feeling guilty.

Sound familiar?

I made it my mission for myself to feel healthy, happy, strong, and fit this holiday season.

So to help myself (and YOU), I created the Healthy Holiday Guide.

It’s the the ultimate self-care workbook to take you from overindulgence and guilt to energy, balance, joy, and improved well-being.

It’s loaded with tips, recipes, and prompts to get yourself thinking, planning, and acting on your health goals for this season.

You can grab it here >> Healthy Holiday Guide

(Side note: if you still have to do holiday present shopping, I’m in the same boat, so I made this Holiday Gift Guide 2018 to find something for every loved one on your list, without leaving home to shop in the chaos>> Holiday Gift Guide 2018)

And as we approach the shortest day of the year next week, I wanted to share with you a 5 BONUS tips for motivating all of us to live a healthy and active life this winter:

1.  Buy a Class Pack

Last winter, I kept myself motivated to workout in the cold, dark mornings by buying a spin class pack.  This year, I bought a hot yoga class pack!

Trust me, you’ll be motivated to workout if you’ve put money behind it 😊

2.  Have 2-3 Healthy Comfort Recipes

Comfort food should be warming, cozy, and fight off inflammation during cold and flu season.

Having a few easy recipes in your back pocket means less time worrying about what to make, and more time for you to cozy up in front of your favorite show.

Try these plant-based recipes that will nourish your body and keep you feeling healthy:

3.  Motivational Post-Its

I’m infamous for snoozing my alarm, but I’ve got a trick to keep me feeling motivated to wake up on time and take on the day:

Put a motivational post-it note on your alarm clock or phone, so that’s the first thing you see (or feel) when you reach for the alarm.

“You Got This” or “Get Fit” or “You’ll Feel Amazing” are a few options.

Need some motivational and hilarious inspo?  Take a look at these post-its>>

4.  Spring Fitness Goal

Setting a goal for the spring will keep you motivated to be active and healthy during the winter months.  Training for a 5K or half marathon?  Register for it!

Traveling?  Pick an activity in that location and sign up- you could even print a picture of your vacation spot and put it on your vision board to remind you of the warm weather adventures to come.

5.  Try a New Activity with a Friend

This year, I’m going to try rock climbing at the Adventure Rock near my home!  Everyone looks like they’re having fun while doing something active.

Make a friend be your accountability partner and try something new together!  New fitness studio?  Aerial yoga? Kitten yoga (I’m so in).

Your Action Step: Which strategy will you try right now?  Print a recipe?  Buy a class pack?  Let me know by emailing me (chelsea@victae.com)!  I'll feature a few in my next newsletter :)
